Another morning star fell from heaven.  His name was Lucifer and
he had a title name, “the son of the morning”.  Lucifer is the KJV
translation of the Hebrew word <Heylel>.  Heylel means light-
bearer – shining one – morning star!  Isaiah tells us that Lucifer was
the son of the morning.  One of the meanings of the name Lucifer is
“morning star”.  Here then is that other morning star of Job 38!

But Isaiah tells us that this morning star was cut down to the ground
and the Messiah tells us that he saw Satan (a name given to Lucifer
after his felled attempt for greater glory) fall as lightning from
heaven.

Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the
morning!  [How] art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the
nations!

Luke 10:18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from
heaven.

What did Lucifer do that caused this change of affairs?  At first, he
was favored of God, and later we see that he is an enemy of God.
Isaiah tells us part of what happened.  At some point Lucifer said
that he would ascend into heaven and exalt his throne above the
stars (angels) of God, the most High.  However, his future involves a
thousand years in a bottomless pit and finally, total destruction.

Isaiah 14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I
will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of
the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

Re 20:1  And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the
bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and
Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3        And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal
upon
him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years
should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

One learns more about Lucifer’s past from Ezekiel 28.  He sealed
up the sum, full of wisdom, and was perfect in beauty.  He had been
in Eden the garden of God.  He is a created being and in the distant
past, he was one of the anointed cherubs that covered the ark of
God.  He was in the holy mountain of God and walked up and down
in the midst of the stones of fire.  He was perfect…until…iniquity
became a part of his makeup!  However, prophecy tells of his
rejection from the mountain (Kingdom) of God.  Ezekiel tells us of
his destruction from the midst of the stones of fire.  Because of his
beauty and brightness, his wisdom was corrupted.  Ground zero is
his destination, and he will become ashes upon the earth.  In other
words, he will be no more!

Ezek 28:11  Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
12 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto
him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and
perfect in beauty.
13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy
covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the
jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the
workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day
that thou wast created.
14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou
wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the
midst of the stones of fire.
15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till
iniquity was found in thee.
16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with
violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the
mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst
of the stones of fire.
17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy
wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay
thee before kings, that they may behold thee.
18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by
the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of
thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the
sight of all them that behold thee.
19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou
shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.

There is an enter-twining of the king of Tyrus and Lucifer in
Ezekiel’s prophecy of Chapter 28.  However, the history and fate of
Satan is in this prophecy.  The king of Tyrus was only a type of
Lucifer.  When one pieces the information together, it becomes
clear that Lucifer was originally one of the morning stars.  He was
at the throne of God and perfect in his ways until, for some reason,
iniquity became a part of him.  What caused Lucifer to have this
problem with iniquity?

Isaiah tells us that Satan determined to ascend to heaven.  From our
perspective, this would tell us that Lucifer was on the earth for some
reason.  Ezekiel says that Lucifer was to become ashes on the
earth.  Isaiah said that Lucifer determined to exalt <his throne>
above the stars of God.  Where was the throne that this morning
star is supposed to have had?  Paul tells us plainly that Satan is the
god of this world!  We find Satan in the Garden of Eden soon after
the creation of Adam and Eve.  Iniquity was in him before that point,
and in spite of the vast universe, he was here on the earth.  It is
obvious that if Satan had not been a part of the earth’s history there
would have been no need for the knowledge of his existence to the
writers of the Bible.

2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world (Satan) hath blinded the
minds of them, which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of
Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Through the writing of Matthew, we see that all of the kingdoms of
the world belong to Satan.  Satan offered all the kingdoms of the
world as a gift to the Messiah in exchange for His worship.  The
Messiah did not contest Satan’s claim to the ownership of the world.
Had Satan been in error, it would have been no test to the Messiah.
However, it was for the very reason of a test experience that the
Messiah was inspired to go into the wilderness (Mt. 4:1).  Therefore,
one would tend to believe that Satan did indeed possess the right to
rule over the kingdoms of the world.  Therefore, it was a temptation
for the Messiah to grab power without dying for the world.  The
Messiah chose the difficult and straight path for He knew that Satan’
s ownership of the nations of the world would eventually pass away.

Matthew 4:8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain,
and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
Matthew 4:9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt
fall down and worship me.

John gives another part of the puzzle in the book of Revelation.
There was another wonder in heaven.  The scene is in the third
heaven of a “great red dragon” whose tail drew the third part of the
stars (angels) of heaven.  These stars fell to the earth.  The Bible
interprets <stars> as <angels> (Re 1:20).

Re 12:3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great
red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his
heads.
4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to
the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman, which was ready to be
delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

Revelation 1:20 The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right
hand, and the seven golden candlesticks.  The seven stars are the angels of the
seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven
churches.

The earth’s creation was the beginning of its history, and perhaps its
creation came along with a vast part of the material universe – if not
the entire universe.  This took place after the creation of at least
two morning stars and the angels (created sons of God) – a different
beginning – that of the spirit world, except for the highest being in
the God Family – who has no beginning.  One of the morning stars
(the Word of God) began the task of creating the rest of the spirit
beings and material creation.  Therefore, we must conclude that He
was the beginning of the creation of God (Rev. 3:14).

Revelation 3:14  And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write;
These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of
the creation of God;

The Word of God, or the Logos in the Greek Language, created
another morning star (Lucifer) and all the angels.  He created the
vast material universe including the earth.  It was at the point of the
original creation of the earth that the history of Genesis 1:1 begins.
At some point after Genesis 1:1, Lucifer received a throne on the
earth.  The indication is that God assigned Lucifer a third of the
angels of heaven, as his subjects on the earth.  Otherwise, it would
seem improbable that he could have seduced them into following him
in a sting operation against their creator.  John tells us “his angels
were cast out with him”.  At some point, Satan had corrupted the
angels under his charge.  They had become “his” angels in more than
one sense of the word.  The bible calls Satan’s fallen angels evil
spirits and today their title name is demons.

Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called
the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into
the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

However, until Lucifer got this iniquity problem everything was
wonderful.  As far as we know, only the earth, of the entire
universe, had been completely finished, causing the morning stars
and created sons of God (the angels) to sing for joy.  The rest of the
universe is waiting for the manifestation of the begotten sons of
God.  It is only after the firstborn Sons of God enter the spirit world
that the recognition and execution of the plan of God for the
universe will occur – both materially and spiritually.

Romans 8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creature (creation) waiteth
for the manifestation of the sons of God.

The Bible makes plain that there are two types of “sons of God”.
There are created sons of God and there are begotten sons of God,
the latter of which will be ultimately born into the Family of God.
Paul refers to the begotten and born sons of God in the above verse,
for it is clear that the created sons of God already existed before
the creation of the earth.

How long was the period of time between the creation of the
material universe, and more particularly the material earth, before
Lucifer got into his iniquity predicament?  The Bible does not tell
us.  It could have been billions of years after the creation of the
earth before Lucifer received a throne position on the earth.
Lucifer could have ruled successfully on the earth for tens of
thousands of years before he became corrupted.  Plenty of time had
past, for it was the age of the dinosaurs.  However, at some point,
Lucifer became dissatisfied and decided that earth was not enough
for someone as perfect and beautiful as he was.  Perhaps he got
bored!  It was an insult to his intelligence.  He had just this one
planet, when he knew quite well that there was a whole universe out
there just waiting for him to rule over.  He became ambitious and
decided to expand his governing territory.  He wanted the third
heaven as his throne, as well as the earth.  In other words, Lucifer
wanted to be the most-high God!

Finally, Lucifer’s ambitions got the better of him and he declared
war on God!  Michael had the charge of the two-thirds of the angels
that had stayed loyal to God – not influenced by Satan; and Lucifer
had his one-third of the angels.  Lucifer – called the dragon in Rev
12:7 – had charge of the angels that he had seduced to come over to
his plan.  With these angels, Michael and Lucifer fought to
determine who would have the right to rule the universe.

Revelation 12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought
against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

Of course, this was the end for Lucifer.  He had miscalculated his
talents, skills, intelligence, and power.  Michael cast him back to the
earth – see Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28.  In addition, as we saw earlier,
the Messiah saw Satan fall as lighting from heaven.

Because of this war, Lucifer revealed that he had failed to correctly
discern his proper place in the universe.  Although the details of why
the earth came to be an empty expanse of chaos are unknown, it
seems rather likely that this war continued back to the surface of
the earth.  By the time Lucifer realized that he could not win this
war against Michael, the destruction of the surface of the earth was
complete.  By the time Satan gave-in, nothing of the beauty of the
face of the earth remained.  Water covered the earth and darkness
was everywhere.

One can envision Michael and his angels and Satan and his angels
hurling meteorites at each other.  One can envision these meteorites
slamming into the earth creating earthquakes leveling the mountains
of the earth.  No doubt, there were volcanoes erupting and spewing
vast amounts of smoke into the atmosphere, creating a total
darkness over the face of the earth.  Surely there were hurricanes
of gigantic proportions sweeping the oceans and creating tidal waves
that washed the soil and rocks of the earth into different patterns
while tornadoes chewed up the surface of the earth.

When the war was over, all physical life on the earth had vanished.
The waters were poisoned and the air was poisoned.  All physical life
had ceased.  Michael and his angels went back to the perfection in
heaven and Satan and his angels now had nothing surrounding them
but death and chaos.  Such vast destruction is, without doubt, the
answer to why we find the dinosaurs buried in mass graves, with the
distinction of sudden catastrophe.  This is more than likely what took
place between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2.  Darkness was everywhere.
The waters covered the earth and darkness covered the oceans of
the earth.  The erupting volcanoes had spewed smoke into the skies
of the earth.  The light of the sun could not penetrate the volcanic
ash that hung over the earth and the ash became a permanent part
of the earth.  Only darkness was everywhere over the waters of the
earth.

Now up to this point the Bible has been discussing the vast past.  It
was a period without markers to tell us when it began and when it
ended.  We do not know when the Word of God created the earth.
The Bible makes no such claim that it was only 6000 years ago.
That has been the misinterpretation of men of religion.  We know
that the creation of the earth originally was a beautiful thing, but it
became an expanse of chaos.  This corruption of the earth’s surface
no doubt came about because of this war with Satan.  There are,
however, other probable causes.  God could have punished Satan by
a destruction of the earth because of his audacity to think that he
could fight with God and win.  Satan could have destroyed the earth,
because of some rebellious rage, after God had won the war against
him, or because he knew that God had other plans for the earth –
plans that included Satan’s demise.  Perhaps there are other possible
reasons.  However, we know that something took place between
verse one and verse two of Genesis Chapter One that threw the
earth into a state of chaos.
